Presents and Stuff

So yeah, I haven't done a proper post in a while. I've been pretty busy with the family overseas here and I've only had sporadic access to the internet.

Anyway, I met up with a bunch of relatives over in Taiwan. I also got a ton of presents:

• WACOM Intuos3 6x8 Graphics Tablet
• KISS-900 MP3 Player (1GB)
• Bold & Delicious / Pride - Ayumi Hamasaki
• 10th Anniversery Complete Single Collection - Ken Hirai
• Couple of red pockets (the contents of which I know not of)
• the five people you meet in heaven - Mitch Albom (finished reading the book in about 1.5 hours)
• A photo album
• Something I have no clue what it's used for (I think it's a name card album?)

We also had a few awesome meals in Taiwan. There's so much to do in Taipei. It's like one shopping mall after another! Oh well, I just have to come back more often to check out stuff.

Holy Beast Online

I'm currently in Taiwan and I recently discovered this MMORPG in development. It is called Holy Beast Online. I am hoping they develop this for an English audience as well (supposedly they are but I don't know) since it seems to have a lot of potential.

The entirety of the game is Chinese at the moment. I'm not fluent in reading Chinese so I can't really help you but I'm sure we'll all figure it out somehow. ^_^

The only other MMORPG I'm looking forward to in the coming year is RF Online.

A Serious Series of Unfortunate Events

Well, I've finally arrived in Hong Kong! Bloody weird journey too.

1. Taxi driver had an accident at the lobby of my apartment before picking me up.
2. When I finally try checking-in, an agent had mistakenly checked me in already on the other side of the terminal thereby making me unable to check-in. It was later discovered that it happened just as I got to the counter (after a long line-up) and it was solved quickly.
3. Plane was delayed for over an hour because somebody needed to get off the plane and also have their baggage removed.
4. Right after that was done, we had a technical problem with the gate bridge not seperating. A delay of over thirty minutes.
5. When arriving in Hong Kong, the girl who sat next to me the whole flight (who I happened to have a lot in common in terms of history) got totally screwed over on a connecting flight. She was crying and sick. I felt so bad.
6. Immigration in to Hong Kong took so damn long!

Well, that was the list of strange events that happened to me all in a row on a single journey. I've never had so many things go wrong - it was just plain weird.

Anyway, I'm tired so I'm going to get myself to bed. ^_^

Finished Exams!

Yay! I've finished all my exams for the semester. I'm not actually here as I've written this before hand - I'll probably still be at the exam room. :P

Anyway, I'll be flying out to the family on Wednesday, so I'll post more on that later.

I'm probably just super-happy to be done at the moment. ^_^

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Just came back from watching The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe with Dave. It is an amazing movie - very well done and very true to it's roots! My only complaint with the movie is that the world seemed so fabricated. Basically, every event is a different place but you never get the feeling it was a real world - it never felt connected. On the plus side, everything was essentially the same as the book. I applaud the director in keeping his promise to the fans. Did I also mention that everything looked unbelievably realistic? It does not feel like you're watching a computer-generated movie and the character acting (and voice acting) is fantastic. I highly suggest anybody who has read the book to go watch the movie in theaters and anybody who hasn't to pick up a copy of the complete series and read it (then watch the movie after)!

I'd give this movie 4.5/5 solely for the lack of having the world feel complete. If not for that, I'd have given it a 5/5.

Exams

Can't really think of anything to post about but....

Yay! Got my new system!

It's been a while since I last posted; however, I finally have everything on my system completely set up!

This system runs everything like hot iron on butter. Ever try running Battlefield 2 with everything maxed out and still have smooth gameplay? Or even F.E.A.R.? Yes, that's right... this system rocks!

The only real downside at the moment is on-board sound quality and heat. The on-board sound sucks! I may replace it with a Creative Audigy 2 ZS card soon. The other issue is heat generation. The palm rests easily go over 30 degrees Celsius at times - not enough to burn you though.

This system is definitely a desktop replacement. I give WidowPC a two-thumbs-up!
