Death versus Public Speaking

I just finished off my second week of work... uh... yay? Heh, anyway, I had to teach a tutorial on introductory HTML for staff today. The tutorial itself was okay, I think, but I was so bloody nervous. Our Chief Executive Officer showed up, along with some of the other higher-ups!

They say that people fear public speaking more than death. Well, I don't fear death (as long as it's quick and/or painless) so all I've got left is public speaking. Did I mention I hate public speaking? Yeah, you can see where this is going.... *lol*

So, while I'm trying to teach this tutorial, I kept making mistakes in the way I spoke. I became even more flustered as time went by; since nobody seemed to have any questions at all. Still, I stuck through to the end.

The tutorial is now over but I'm left wondering if they learned anything - at least my notes were good. :P

Well, now I've got an entire weekend to just chill. Still, I have an assignment but it mainly requires a lot of thought so I don't think I'll be too busy with it. Unfortunately, it's due Monday, heh.

That's my update for now, I really want to post more but I can never seem to think of what to write about; and the stuff I do want to write about require too much thought and effort. Haha... I'll get around to writing those eventually though. ^_^

End of First Week of Work

Yay, I finished my first week of work.

A quick overview:

• Proofed and edited a few monographs
• Updated portions of the website
• Helped escort a delegation
• Learned about a lot of different "office" methods
• Preparing for a presentation on introductory HTML
• Sorting out material for the public communications department

So that's about it for that. The work isn't anything I can't handle but it really is tedious at times. Still, it's something I can learn from. :P

I recently got a free ten-day trial to World of Warcraft but there are way too many servers to choose from... so, anybody have any ideas? *lol*

Well, I'm still waiting for Over the Hedge and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Good thing those are coming out in a few weeks.

I'll leave you all with one question since I can't think of anything else to say at the moment: If you could change the past, would you?

First Day of Work

I'm not exactly sure what I can say so I'll be very brief and just as vague.

I just got back from my first day of work. I basically spent most of the day proofing and editing monographs but also spent a few hours working on updating their website. Work hours are from 8:45AM until 5:15PM but that's fine with me.

Um... nothing else worth reporting. Yay... work! *lol*

I'll post again with something more substantial (about other stuff) later. :P
