I got back from a two-day LAN party at Emmery's place early this morning (*cough4AMcough*). It was packed! In total, I think there were about ten people. Considering this was hosted in only a single room (not that large either), that's quite impressive.
Em and 'Big' Dave recently built new systems and upgraded an older system so we had about five systems that were in good shape (including mine and one other). We also had a Wii on the side as well.
The Wii wasn't used as much though - not enough party games. But hey, at least we didn't throw a Wii-mote through the television set. *lol*
However, let's not forget about the food too. We had Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and random snacks. Cat and 'Little' Dave cooked the Chinese food.
During the LAN party, I was the one in charge of the networking. It is probably the first time I've put my DGL-4300 Gaming Router on full load. It performed excellently. I also figured out how to make a DI-604 Router into a temporary switch. Surprisingly, there was very little latency for internet connections and the entire network, with the dual router and wireless set-up, was problem free.
Ah... fun times. Next time (no idea when) will be even better I think. ^_^
(On a side-note, I'll be getting my Shure E4C earbuds soon! Thanks again, Mom!)
